LEONARD: I just wanted to check in with you about “Rebel”. Everything is going very well. He has made himself quite comfortable in our home; it’s like he has been with us since birth.

It took us a little while to settle on a name, but we decided to call him Lenny! My husband wore me down- he thinks it’s funny to hear me call for him in the backyard. So, Leonard it is.

He and our other min pin, Hagen, love to chase each other around the backyard until one of them is too tired to run anymore. We take them on walks together and get compliments on them wherever we go. We love him so much.

Thank you for the opportunity. I can’t imagine life without Lenny.

BAILEY: My family and I would just like to thank AMPS for all the work you are doing for these precious babies. Bailey came into our life at just the right time. Our first Min Pin, Deluca, passed away in May 2007 unexpectedly and we were devastated beyond words. Our other Min Pin, Lacey, had never lived a day in our home with out Luke. She was just as lost and heartbroken as we were. The months went by and the pain still never seem to start to fade. Lacey started to become less active and really was just grieving for Luke. We had played around with the idea of getting a new dog but never could agree if the time was right. One day my sister was browsing PetFinder when she sent me an email with Bailey's picture. I knew as soon as I saw his picture he was the right dog for us. He reminded me so much of Luke, it was as if Luke had sent Bailey to us. As soon as we met him, it was love at first sight. When he came home and met Lacey, she was so excited. They have been running, romping, playing, and snuggling ever since. We really appreciate everything AMPS is doing for these wonderful little dogs. They are so much more than dogs, but family member and you have helped to make our family complete once again.

Thanks you from the bottom of our hearts

SOPHIE: Hello. I've had Shadow (now named Sophie) for 9 months now, and I just can't imagine life without her! She's my companion, my pal, my GIRL! I'm a single gal with no children, so it's just me and her most of the time. She has won over the hearts of my parents and we go to visit "Grandma and Grandpa" almost every weekend.

One thing we didn't discover about Sophie until I adopted her was that she's deaf. I've never had a deaf dog before, and it certainly takes some getting used to. She's learned several hand signals and other than me not being able to call her, you'd never know she was deaf. Because she's deaf, she doesn't hear the other dogs in the neighborhood, so she doesn't bark hardly at all.

Everyday when I get home from work, we go for a walk, and she knows the drill because as I'm putting on my tennis shoes, she will dance around, then finally throw her head back (very dramatically) and sound off with a long "awrrooooroooooooooooooooooo". She sounds almost human!!!

A few months ago, we took a road trip to Houston, TX and she did so well on the 18 hour drive - she was the perfect travel companion!!!

I've never had small dogs before, only Boxers and German Shepherds, so I wasn't all that familiar with them. Now, I tell everyone that if they want a true loyal companion that will snuggle under the covers with them at night...only a MinPin is the way to go!!

CHLOE: In June of 2007, we lost our beloved Min Pin, Minnie. It was a shock because she was only 8 and it was unexpected. I looked at MinPins for a while right after her passing, but it was just not the right time, and my husband and I were just not ready.

One day, I was just looking through the AMPS site to get my "dog fix" when I spotted the most beautiful girl! Her eyes went straight to my heart. I knew IMMEDIATELY she was meant to be with us! Within hours of seeing her photo, I was filling the application out and shortly after I emailed the foster mom, Melissa. I couldn't WAIT to see her. And, when Jody came to our home, she knew Chloe couldn't get here fast enough!

When she was ready, I was nervous all day, she couldn't get her fast enough! I was surprised at how fast she adjusted. It was as if she KNEW this was her forever home! She is so sweet and so wonderful with my son. I love her more and more every day. She is just part of the family and it's as though she's been here since the day she was born. It's difficult to believe we are her third home. I cannot believe ANYONE would let her go! I know this was difficult for Melissa because Chloe makes her way into your heart, but I so appreciate her taking care of her and keeping her safe and healthy for her transition. Jody and Phyllis were also very kind and helpful and they knew Chloe needed me as much as I needed her! She snuggles next to me EVERY night and I never have an empty lap if I sit for more than a minute. She is such a joy and such a little imp! She makes me laugh, and if I am sad, she is there to lick the tears and give me nose nuzzles.

AMPS was so wonderful through this entire process. I love them all for helping me find my baby girl and helping her find her forever home. I still think of how eager they were to help and how sweet Jody, Melissa and Phyllis were and thank God that there are people willing to make the world better for a little dog and for a grieving heart.

RED: Little Red found a wonderful new family! He has the run of his family’s campground, the Riverbend Campground in Maine, which opened on May 1. Besides his new human family, Red now has an Italian Greyhound, a Rottweiler, and kitty fur–siblings. His new parents say, “We LOVE HIM!! He has such a personality and character he has us cracking up all the time.” Red hopes that all of the campers in the group will come and visit him at Riverbend.
